Discover Naniwa Church
Naniwa Church, located in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, is a Protestant church known as the first self-sustaining church in Japan. Established on January 20, 1877, it has been a place where believers can offer heartfelt worship and share joy to this day.

The first pastor was Yasuyuki Sawamura, who studied theology at Northwestern University in the United States and received the first ordination in Japan. The current church was completed in 1930. Under the design guidance of American architect William Merrell Vories, it was built by Takenaka Corporation. It faces Mikkyu Bridge Street, where gas lamps line up and many modern buildings such as the Cotton Industry Hall and Yagi Tsusho remain.
Every Sunday, a Sunday service is held, and special services and meetings are held to celebrate special events and festivals.
