Close to the fishing port, seafood caught in the afternoon, known as "day-net", is auctioned off starting around 2:30 pm. On the second floor of the building, there's a restaurant where you can enjoy fish dishes and barbecues. You can even have the fish you bought cooked for you. In addition to seafood barbecues and seafood bowls, tempura and other fish dishes, the market also sells locally grown vegetables, fruits, and flowers.

The Izumisano Fishing Port Open-Air Market started in the late Showa 30s when some brokers of the Sano Regional Wholesale Market and some fishermen spontaneously started selling seafood on the street immediately after the auction. Now, about 30 stores (mostly fresh fish) line up, and especially on weekends, it is crowded with visitors from other prefectures, becoming a symbol of Senshu.
