The number of films screened at the 19th Osaka Asian Film Festival is 63, and the countries and regions of the films screened are 24 countries and regions (USA, UK, Indonesia, Australia, Netherlands, Qatar, South Korea, Cambodia, Georgia, Singapore, Switzerland, Spain, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Germany, Bangladesh, Philippines, France, Portugal, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mongolia, Japan).
The competition section, which is the core of this film festival, attracted a wide variety of films, including three films from each country for the next Academy Award for International Feature Film.
“City of Wind” is a youth drama depicting the love and growth of a boy who works as a shaman (Mongolian representative).

Animation “Missing” in which a “mouthless” young man struggles with childhood trauma (Representative from the Philippines)

A youth drama about a high school student who decides to make a short film about his deceased classmate, "Best Friend" (Thai representative)
Other works include "Sally" (Taiwan, France), a story about a woman who learns to love herself after a bitter love affair with an app; "Aspiring Lyricist" (Hong Kong, Taiwan), a comedy story about the struggle of a high school girl who believes in her lyric writing talent; Trouble Girl (Taiwan), in which Audrey Lin became the youngest actress ever (at 12 years old) to win the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress for her role as a girl with ADHD, and Solids by the Seashore (British), which won the NETPAC Award at the Busan International Film Festival. 14 works will be screened, including "Thailand" (Thailand).

“Open in new window” (Original title: The Moon Thieves) (Hong Kong)
A stylish crime drama filmed in Tokyo, starring members of the popular Hong Kong group MIRROR. The third feature film by director Yuen Kim Wai, who made his feature debut with "Dark Colored Heaven". The latest locally released films will be screened for the first time in Japan during the 2024 Chinese New Year.

"Tokyo CowboyOpen in new window" (English title: Tokyo Cowboy) (USA)
This is Arata Iura's first leading role in an American movie, a human drama starring him as a "cowboy from Tokyo." Starring Fumiko Fujitani and Jun Kunimura. This will be the first overseas screening of director Mark Marriott's feature debut, who has spent his career working as a TV program director and producer, including assisting Yoji Yamada's films overseas in the early stages of his career.
